THE 333 B & B AND US

We decided to open a Bed and Breakfast with the support and encouragement of a close and very valued friend, Luc (our webmaster). We talked about it for a long time and finally decided we'd better act now or lose our dream. So we began shopping. First we considered the Silverlake area near downtown LA where we lived, but got turned off by the high property prices and numerous restrictions. Then one day, Andy was surfing the net for city codes on B&B's and clicked on a real estate link in Palm Springs and saw a cute property that we just had to see near downtown Palm Springs. Ninety days later we were proud owners of what is now the 333 Bed & Breakfast.

It took us about two years to get some renovations done. With small things fixed, like a new roof, fence, new bathrooms, and kitchen remodel, we were ready to start our new aventure.

When we began our journey, we discussed at great length to whom we should cater to; would we be a gay hotel, gay friendly, or simply gay owned hotel? We finally decided that we are just going to be a hotel, and have thoroughly enjoyed all of our visitors of all persuasions. So, while we are a gay own and operated establishment, we welcome everyone, gay straight, lesbian or bi-sexual.

As we grow and become more established, we are enthusiastically committed to our B&B, and we look forward to the pleasure of meeting new friends and welcoming back returning guests.

SOMETHING ABOUT ANDY:

Andy grew up in a large family, consisting of six boys and two girls. With such a large family, one learns how to cook, clean house, run a washing machine and dryer at a young age. It is due to this "training" that he feels comfortable working around the house and making sure things are well taken care of. His family moved to California in 1976 from South Carolina after his father retired from the Navy. Minus a stay of six years in Texas, he has been here ever since.

Over his lifetime, Andy worked in many places, most of which are food related. He is currently employed with a local catering company here in Palm Springs. He loves working in the public eye and truly enjoys what he does. With over 18 years of catering and food service experience of almost 16 years, mostly in the serving department, he is known among his friends for his good cooking and creative ideas for food.

When not cleaning house or catching up with family, Andy likes to ride the many bike trails and paths that wind through Palm Springs, or go for walks with Tim, who has been his partner, friend and confidant for over ten years now.

A BIT ABOUT TIM:

Tim is an engineer for an industrial refrigeration company out of Wisconsin, working in a satellite office in downtown Palm Springs, traveling occasionally in the Southwest region. So, you will probably run into him mostly on the weekends. He too came from a large family with two brothers and two sisters, over 20 aunts and uncles and dozens of cousins. So, he is used to having lots of company around as well. He lived in Wisconsin half his life before transferring to California with his job. He lived 10 years at the beach (Belmont Shores), 11 years near downtown LA (Silverlake), and is now happily settled into the desert.

For relaxation, in addition to bicycling with Andy, he enjoys walking through the historic neighborhoods of Palm Springs, hiking in the Indian Canyons and gardening. His collection of unique cactus plants is quite impressive, and he takes pleasure in sharing samples of them with his guests.

TRIBUTE TO MS. BISCUT:

We had a cat Ms. Biscut, born June 10, 1990 in Hollywood, CA. She was an only child and her mother died when she was five weeks old leaving Andy to hand feed her. She was his companion from earlier sober days and always came to him when he was having a bad day. She is his living definition of unconditional love. He tried to give her the best he could, so he bought the B&B for her. Sadly, she is only with him in spirit now, but she will forever be a part of our home.
